Rapide puts the full power of Masternaut into the hands of managers on the move

Masternaut has launched a new mobile version of its market-leading web-based vehicle tracking service. The ground-breaking Rapide website for PDAs brings the full functionality of the always-on fully-managed Masternaut service to roving managers, allowing them full access to vital operational information whenever they are away from the office.

Making real-time and historic vehicle information instantly available to busy managers on a PDA enables them to better manage the fleet, which in turn boosts productivity, increases efficiencies and improves customer service.

Rapide allows transport managers to monitor the exact movement of their entire fleet of vehicles with minute-by-minute updates tracked by global positioning satellites using a browser-equipped GPRS-enabled PDA. Rapide also locates and monitors individual vehicles and enables access to 7-day movement histories for each vehicle.

Rapide has been carefully designed to be user friendly and requires no specialist knowledge of mobile computers. Users simply access Rapide using the mobile browser on their handheld device via a dedicated website address.  They can then access all current operations information such as a real time map showing the vehicle locations for the entire fleet or by group designation and drop down lists of vehicles.

Using the PDA stylus or touchscreen, the user can click on the vehicle of interest to display a new screen giving full details of the vehicle and driver's activity for that day. The user can also interrogate the history file for the past 7 days to present a clear view of the whole week's movements.

Rapide can also access additional related information, including other nearby vehicles in incremental distances ranging from 1 to 50 miles, contacts within a 3-mile radius, traffic problems, and gives full access to a comprehensive mapping database of points of interest.
