Mowlem bank's on Masternaut for resource management

Mowlem Plc, the leading international provider of construction and support services, have chosen a vehicle tracking and navigation system from Masternaut to support delivery of planned and reactive maintenance as part of a five year, £400 million, service contract for HSBC. The Masternaut system enables the exact location of every vehicle to be monitored in real time through the use of a web interface, provides in-cab navigation and routing and also provides an historical record of both vehicle and driver activities.

The vehicles, which are used to provide a range of property maintenance services at HSBC sites in the North West region, are equipped with the tracking system from Masternaut. The Masternaut system uses GPS to establish the location of the vehicle, the information is automatically transmitted via GPRS and the position of the vehicle is then recorded against Microsoft MapPoint® online street mapping. This information can then be accessed via any web enabled PC or delivered by email for customised reporting. In addition to tracking the vehicle the Masternaut system also provides the driver the ability to create and edit driving routes and real time navigation information.

The Masternaut system also records both vehicle and driver activities, providing an historical record for the creation of monthly management reports. The Mowlem team, as well as providing planned maintenance, are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year delivering reactive maintenance services to over 1,000 sites nationwide with 300 sites in the North West region. The information provided by the Masternaut system enables managers to accurately monitor the number and location of service calls completed by each maintenance operative providing accurate accounting records and ultimately reducing costs.
