Masternaut puts Mears services on the map

Peter Mountain, Mears Partnership Manager Mears, the UK’s leading social housing repair and maintenance provider, has fitted its service fleet with Masternaut to protect lone workers and improve service response. The first implementation sees 75 vehicles operating in the North West of England being equipped with satellite tracking and communications, giving Mears real time information on the whereabouts of their 100 operatives via the web.

In the UK, Mears provides building, mechanical and electrical services to over 400,000 public sector homes. Masternaut is seen as a valuable aid to the company’s response repair services, where personnel are out and about alone working at homes owned by councils, housing associations and ALMOs.

Masternaut provides lone worker protection by monitoring the precise whereabouts of working operatives and alerting control staff to call operatives if safety is of concern. The system also acts as useful anti-theft device, alerting controllers to unauthorised vehicle use

Mears receives jobs from council contact centres and Masternaut allows rapid allocation of the nearest and most suitable resources to deal with repairs including emergencies. The system provides the added benefit of providing proof of services by recording arrival and departure times.
