Ringway has appointed Masternaut to supply an advanced vehicle tracking and mobile resource management service group-wide

Masternaut was selected as the best solution for Ringway's diverse operations, offering easy enterprise-wide access to live fleet information via the web.

Ringway, a part of the VINCI Group, specialises in highway maintenance and operates a wide variety of vehicles across group companies. Ringway delivers services in roads maintenance, construction, surfacing and street lighting as well as the manufacture of signs roadmarking materials and asphalt. Around 2000 vehicles are involved in Ringway's UK operations and the first installations of Masternaut have been for the company's fleet maintaining roads for Surrey County Council.

Ringway previously had telematics equipment installed in some vehicles but required a single supply chain partner that could provide a solution that was easy to implement and accessible to everyone.

The Masternaut system provides Ringway with a complete management information service. Real-time information is gathered automatically via GPS and vehicle sensors or through mobile data entry using in-cab and portable devices that can be used as part of a job despatch system. These PDA-type smartphones receive live job details, provide on-screen and voice navigation, and are used to report job status and closure. Ringway is also assessing a variety of Masternaut adds-on. These include driver ID keys, panic buttons, lone worker safety monitoring and links to onboard sensors to monitor activities such as gulley emptying, gritting equipment and sweeping brushes. All data is relayed live to the web and is incorporated into Masternaut's e-mail management reports that provide a continual log of all vehicle activity.
