Glencroft set to save £100k with Masternaut

Specialist groundwork contractors Glencroft are set to make savings in excess of £100,000 since implementing a web-based vehicle navigation and tracking service from Masternaut. By improving the efficiency of their mobile operation with optimised route information and real time traffic alerts the Masternaut service is set to reduce the company's annual fuel bill by an estimated £100,000 providing a significant return on investment and reducing their impact on the environment. The Masternaut service uses satellite technology to establish the exact position of every vehicle in the Glencroft fleet providing managers with complete visibility of their workforce and vehicles. The service also delivers voiced turn-by-turn directions, real time traffic alerts and an alternative route option for unexpected incidents.

Glencroft specialise in road and sewer construction, bulk excavation, civil works and tunnelling and pipelines for new house building projects. With a client base that includes several blue-chip companies, for example Persimmon Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Miller Homes, David Wilson and McInerney Homes to name a few.  Glencroft have an excellent reputation throughout the North of England for their high quality of work,  efficiency, reliability and professionalism applied to every contract.

"By reducing unnecessary mileage we hope to reduce our annual fuel bill by half," said John Duffy, Glencroft's Commercial Director. "This is a projected year on year saving of £100,000 plus". He continued, "The Masternaut service has also increased awareness of the environmental impact of our activities and drivers are more conscious of how and when they use their vehicles".

The Masternaut service uses global positioning technology (GPS) and high speed communications (GPRS) to establish and communicate, in real time, the exact position of each vehicle in the Glencroft fleet. Managers can access this information via any web enabled PC or handheld device via a secure log in, giving them complete visibility of their mobile operation.

"Since implementing Masternaut we have also improved our maintenance programme as we can be pro-active, anticipating faults based on actual vehicle usage rather than waiting for a breakdown to happen. This will in turn significantly reduce the costs, again achieving savings annually and enabling increased efficiencies," continued John Duffy. "Masternaut also benefits our personnel. They are more productive in their day to day duties, we have additional intelligence to support our Health and Safety and Lone Worker policies and, following changes to the regulations governing the private use of company vehicles, they have proof they need".
